Part of that pricelessness may involve international study for you. We believe you would enjoy the opportunity to study in a world class university, where education is not restricted to classroom lectures and rote learning. Where activities and interaction with fellow students and lecturers from various cultures and backgrounds is paramount in the teaching and learning process. Where the curriculum provides you with the opportunity to learn both the theory and the skills necessary for you to take your rightful place in a work environment. To interact with lecturers who are teaching in their field of expertise is a bonus not to be missed. This is what awaits you when you travel offshore to study internationally. At Placeme, we help you find the right educational environment regardless of where it happens to be in the world.

Australia has a plethora of universities. Each university reviews their programmes constantly to satisfy changing education and industry needs. While the list is extensive, choices of university and programmes are individual specific and may vary significantly from one year to the next. We recommend you discuss your specific educational needs with us. We can then help you focus your study option to the most appropriate study programme and destination for you.

Student visas

After working with you to identify your specific education requirements, a Placeme consultant will confirm your eligibility to apply for a student visa. Once this eligibility has been confirmed our consultant will then contact the education institution in New Zealand, Ireland, Canada or Australia to obtain an offer of place for you. Our team will then begin the process of preparing applications, supporting documentation and follow up with you to inform, confirm and communicate realistic timelines in regard to the visa processing.

A successful visa application will then allow us to start working on both pre-departure and post departure processes, ie, opening up a bank account for you in your destination country and working with you on accommodation and travel options. When the time arrives for you to head offshore we will conduct a pre-departure orientation meeting where you, along with all of the other departing students, will have an opportunity to hear more about travelling to and living in your country of choice. You will have the opportunity to follow-up on any concerns or issues at this meeting along with networking with the other students heading to the same destination as yourself.

Travel documents

Going to a new country where things will be unfamiliar will, in all likelihood, heighten your anxiety along with the anxiety of those you leave at home. At Placeme we want to do everything we can to ensure that you are not stressed or anxious. We want you to be looking forward to what will be a new and exciting challenge.

At placeme we will work with the travel agent to provide you with the best ticket price and travel options ensuring you can travel on the dates we specify on your behalf. We will also provide you with the various internet and telephone network connectivity providers in your destination country. We will ensure you are well informed about public and private transportation that will be available upon your arrival.

Luggage allowances, items to pack in your luggage, special dietary requirements for in-flight consumption along with all other travel and arrival information can be discussed with us before you leave.

We offer you practical advice based on our extensive experience and understanding of the rules and regulations that these countries have in regards to taking medicines and indigenous items for consumption.

It is recommended to keep the following list of travel documents and information in your hand-carry items at the time of your departure:

  • Valid passport
  • Destination/stopover country’s valid visa
  • Plane tickets
  • Accommodation details
  • Airport pickup details
  • Travel & medical insurance
  • Bank accounts and details
  • Travel card and local currency (cash)

Accommodation for students

Landing in a new country and attempting to find accommodation on arrival can be a time consuming, expensive exercise - not to mention the stress that would be associated with that process. Without knowledge of the local environment or the way things are done in a particular country it can be difficult for you to make informed decisions. Placeme will provide information and contacts that will make your decision-making stress-free and appropriate for your personal circumstances.

WellingtonInformation relating to accommodation will be important to you as there are many options available when you first arrive in a country. From our past experience we believe that most students find homestay accommodation with a resident family the most helpful in easing your transition into a new country and way of life. If you require such assistance please tell our counsellors.

There are other forms of accommodation to suit various needs and budgets. Many institutions can provide students with accommodation in hostels or even the local backpackers, halls of residence or dormitories. Many students also share accommodation and facilities in houses.

We caution our students not to select a place to rent based purely on the cost. As a student you need to consider such things as the distance from where you are staying to where you are studying and the availability of public transport. Although public transport may be available, the frequency and routes may not suit your study times or, if your have a part time job, getting you to your job on time. Please ensure you research your chosen accommodation thoroughly before deciding on it – involve us in this research as we are the experts in this area.

A degree is a culmination of the effort and sacrifices an individual have made to achieve this qualification. At placeme, our degree is your testimonial. It is a celebration of our success, a success borne from you realising your aspirations. It reaffirms our understanding of the students and individuals we interact with, the processes we have put in place and is a testament to our dedication to the craft.

The founder of Placeme, Mr Solai, has a passion about helping young dreamers achieve their goals – especially if you want to study, work or move to another county from India. Mr Solai and his staff have a lot of contacts in New Zealand. These contacts allow Placeme to network very effectively when helping their candidates travel internationally for work or study. The Placeme staff also visit NZ and host alumni and current student gatherings. This provides support and networking opportunities for all those who come to the gatherings.

Placeme were very helpful in making sure that I get into the choice of my course and University. They have been very supportive by flicking me mails on my arrival to the country for the first time. They helped me out by giving me couple of contacts so that I would get comfortable with the country and its people. Overall, I can say that they were very much helpful, kind and all knowing (when it comes to Kiwi Land).

Maynooth University is by far the best experiences I have had in terms of education. The quality of education and exceptional faculty are the strong points for the university. The courses offered are tailor made to suit the preferences of the students and complies with the real world requirements. The infrastructure clearly stands true to the Emerald Isle tagline of Ireland. Both the university and the country have provided quantifiable benefits along with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Choosing to study abroad can be an intimidating process. A big chunk of credit goes to Placeme for guiding me in the application and visa processing very closely. I must say UCC is a brilliant university to be associated with. With over a hundred societies and clubs in the university, they encourage the students to be actively involved in various social and sports activities. Moreover, the Indian society here is very active, celebrating many Indian festivals and making me feel at home. The commonly spoken language in Ireland is English and the Irish people are friendly, it is easy to integrate into the society. Also, there are a lot of clubs, pubs and music bars in the city to hang out and make new friends from different nationalities.
