Unitec

North Tec

North Tec is the region’s largest provider of tertiary education, with campuses and learning centres in Whangarei city and Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands. North Tec also has Learning Centres in Rawene on the shores of the Hokianga, Kaikohe and Kaitaia. NorthTec remains the only Northland-based Tertiary Education Institute that provides programmes from foundation to degree level.

WITT – Western Institute of Technology

TARANAKI – The Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (WITT) is a quality Government-owned tertiary education institution based in New Zealand’s cultural and surfing hub. Taranaki is a beautiful region defined by its wonderful snow-capped mountain, extensive coastline, great surfing and many opportunities for outdoor activities. WITT is the only state tertiary institution in Taranaki and offers courses from certificate to degree level across a wide range of areas, including Business, Nursing, Hospitality, Maori, Humanities, Media, Art, Electrical, Engineering, Automotive, Welding, Carpentry, Architecture, Computing, Hairdressing, Fashion, Beauty Therapy, Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences and Agriculture.

EIT

In 1987 the Hawke’s Bay Community College was renamed the “Hawke’s Bay Polytechnic”. The next name change – to the ‘Eastern Institute of Technology’ occurred in 1996, the Institute’s 21st year. Many people have reaped the rewards of a quality education at EIT over the last 30 years. The Institute offers an extensive range of programmes. There are now more than 100 programmes offered at postgraduate, degree, diploma and certificate level, across an impressive range of subject areas. EIT programmes combine practical skills with a sound theory base. Many can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis so there is an increasing opportunity to earn while you learn. Open Entry courses enable people who don’t have academic qualifications or don’t feel ready for a higher level of study, an introductory pathway to achieving a fulfilling career. EIT aims to meet the demands of the regions’ key industry groups as well as the wider employment market, and networks closely with the community. Unique programmes are offered in areas such as Viticulture, Wine and Food Science and Sport and Recreation.

UCOL – Universal College of Learning

The Universal College of Learning or UCOL is an award winning, government-funded institute of technology and polytechnic with three campuses in the lower half of the North Island of New Zealand. It is committed to innovation, in teaching and learning as well as student support services. It offers a broad range of polytech courses and programmes, including foundation and certificate programmes, diplomas, degrees and some post-graduate options. Polytech courses are available from our three campuses in Palmerston North, Masterton and Whanganui and many are also available online, using the latest web technology. Their style is practical, down-to-earth, creative and adventurous. We take advantage of the latest technology to improve teaching and learning.

Weltec Institute of Technology

Ara Institute of Canterbury Ltd, City Campus

Ara Institute of Canterbury, often simply referred to as Ara, is an institute of technology in Canterbury, New Zealand. It was formed in 2016 from the merger of Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology and Aoraki Polytechnic. Ara specialises in applied tertiary training.

SIT – The Southern Institute of Technology

SIT is one of 20 government polytechnics and institutes of technology offering tertiary education throughout New Zealand.
